OK, I have been having starting problems with my TD6 and tried a number of things to no avail. I am now investigating my in tank fuel pump.

I lifted the carpet and opened the access panels over the tank. I removed the pump relay from the rear fuse box and put key in ignition. I then climbed into the back of the car and replaced the relay. The pump started up and made a noise as if it was operating correctly, but there was also a continuous squeaking noise. The squeaking noise cannot be heard with the covers and carpet in place but was quite loud with all the covers removed.

Is this a normal noise or is the pump knackered? No longer FF owner but still interested. Present car Jaguar XE
