Follow the bedding in procedure here:

http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/...tem-bed-in

You shouldn't stop completely when bedding in as a hot pad will transfer material to the disc where it stops causing an imbalance...what most people believe is a 'warped' disc.

Don't worry about the smoking.

The discs should come with an anti-corrosion coating which needs to be cleaned off before use, unless there are specific instructions that you don't need to. I always clean them off anyway as greasy fingers may have been on the disc especially with copper grease being used in the area (that stuff gets everywhere!).

Thanks for the link..so if the stuff wasn't cleaned off the disc, it just causes a bit of a mess…Would it be ok to get a light skimming to the disc and something smiler to the pad? Or since I've already put them on just bed it in and get on with it?

I doubt it would cause a huge issue if the discs were not cleaned off, its just best practice to clean them off if you want the brakes to work properly from the outset. The smoking is from the new pads, the final binding resins being cooked off when bedding in.

Skimming of the discs is only needed if they are 'warped' (vibration felt under braking). You can usually spot 'warped' discs due to imbalance of pad material transfer rather than true warped discs as the disc will be hot spotted or discoloured in patches although it's not always visible.
Sometimes the discs can be recovered from pad material deposits or glazing by rubbing them over using Garnet paper, don't use sand or aluminium oxide paper as the silicon can transfer and embed on the disc surface creating a worse situation which only skimming or replacing of the discs can get rid of.

Most brake issues can be sorted with a good clean up, lube (copper grease) on sliding parts and non friction mating surfaces and then following the bedding in procedure again to give a clean friction material face.

In your situation I would just bed them in and get on with it.

Thanks guys, the braking is juddery, cant explain it, something like hicups. When I come to a stop i usually throw it to N . I hold the brake then to D and as i lift my foot of the brake, not smooth flowing, its like im trying to snatch something as I lift my foot of the brake, every now and then..hope that makes sense. Also when coming to a stop, i feel a lag or gap, like i need to press a little more than usual to feel in control of where I want to stop, finally when it stops, usually its firm and precise, feels like its a loose stop if that makes sense at all?

Note: last service advised that the front steering arm bushes are cracked and need replacing? maybe thats the lag im feeling in braking or the judder?

Maybe its just me, love the big girl Thumbs Up

Attached pics, notice the yellow build up on the disc 😑
