You are right. It is annoying.

I threaded a 5cm broad Velcro strap, about 60 cm long (bought from a hardware store like Homebase) through the air vent grill, one on each side. On the offside it retains a rolled up picnic rug and a soft bag containing odds and ends; the nearside one retains a folding step and folding box in the upright position (just happen to be things I have always found handy to carry). I suspect the grill won’t take a huge weight strapped to it but for that sort of thing it’s fine. Norman

If you use the fixing net from the old car what hooks do you fix it to?

The hole in the side is for placing a set of golf clubs in club bag. Give it a go its a nice touch if you play golf ! |

I asked by dealer if I could get a set of fixings like the ones on a 322, and the answer was No! Apparently the 322 fixings attach to the bodywork rather than the lining, so cannot be used on a 405 as there are no holes in the bodyshell.

Is there no way to upgrade to those locking eyelets on the runner rails that they show in the owners manual? The also seem to come with roll out retainers which lock into them to restrain loads? Steve
