I thought that maybe the case but wonder if anyone had either used a trimmer, or maybe attempted a DIY repair.

A friend of a friend is an upholsterer and makes all this "shabby chic" stuff modern folk seem to like...he said he will take a look as he has done new beading on chairs....

Otherwise have a look around for original replacement leather covers - they appear on eBay and I seem to remember Rimmer Bros. etc. stock them. |
