so we went to a retail park yesterday and it was manic with peeps and cars all over the place..we decided to treat ourselves to a kfc lunchbox each so said boxes were purchased and as expected the inside and outside seating of this kfc was very busy so back to the FF and we put the tailgate down and sat on it enjoying our munchies much to the amusement of passing cars and the peeps inside kfc..

one of mine snapped on my old p38, when i sat with my '17 large' bulk, and yes, i does make you jump!, but only the one, and no damage, bought two new ones. i checked these early on when i got the fatty. ok so far.

I think the original (1970's) Range Rover had hinged flat metal check rods, much more robust. |

I did mine with the damped upgrade. The old ones were foooooked! Very rusty indeed. I filled the grommets with grease to stop it happening again.

Just checked mine after reading this Stan - And yep - Rusty as and I mean rusty - this car is only 5 years old and been under cover most of the time! |

If I do the damped upgrade I guess I only need to buy one plus the kit.

the dampener only lets the tailgate down slowly, it doesnt support it...so you do need two tailgate straps..
