I fitted one of these to my TDV8. If you use the FBH it's a godsend being GEL based. It can start the car when 80% discharged and it will stand a lot of deep dishcharge cycles. Same price as LR quoting.

To a certain extent a battery is a battery. Internal components effect the lifespan, R&D contributes to safety, longevity and lifesian. Your looking at two main things the amps per hour (Ah) and the cold cranking amps (CCA). As a rule of thumb the higher the number the more power. You need high cranking amps for the FF and enough Ah to ensure it won't flatten quickly.

A high end Bosch will be significantly cheaper and come with a 5 year warranty. From memory I bought my 110Ah / 920 CCA for £130 all in. 5 min job to fit. Cost of saving = 1 tank of fuel.

Yes but the 110ah battery is a "difficult fit" in some tdv8s, I had to cut the bottom flange off mine which I would imagine has invalidated the warranty! Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Good point NM but do you really expect any problems? Besides fitting stuff with hammers is mandatory on most DIY projects regardless Laughing

I was quoted about £300 to fit a battery from dealer. I presume a 90ah one. But I sourced one for around £160. It being a varta with 110 ah. Unsure of cranking. May buy one, as the kids tv goes off after a VERY SHORT TIME after the ignition is switch off.

Can't believe some of these crazy prices Shocked

Where I live we have a really good battery specialist (SYBS), who are the UK's largest independent distributor of Varta batteries and always give great advice of right ah for the job it needs to do.

I am sure they would be much more competitive than some of these prices and they never charge more than a fiver to fit, even if (as with some) its an awkward fit Thumbs Up
