how much "play" should there be in side steps?

I have the non retractable sidesteps which I presume are factory fitted.

I noticed that when I put weight on the rear part of the step when fastening the kids in the back the step moves very slightly so you can see a tiny bit of daylight between the step and the car.

From a very quick look underneath I can see two strong diaganol arms that look sturdy enough to hold the steps in place but they are towards the middle and front section.

Will there be supporting bolts towards the back that might need tightening? 2010 4.4 tdv8 - black / ivory

Check bolts then check under steps for rust. I recently had to replace my steps as mine had rusted from underneath which caused movement and partially broke.
I actually bought a pair of oem steps from a member on here as some ppl dont like having them on the ffrr. Range rover td6 54 reg touch screen
