iv bought a reverse camera (number plate one) cheap on flea bay but good. it tilts to an angle of your choice and good picture at night too. Iv fitted this to a gvif interface and the camera comes on when ever i put car in reverse.

Could someone give a little detail as to the replacement of the original reversing camera as I get nervous that it might be fibre optic wiring from it? Basically what is involved in replacement without rewiring right back to one of the boxes in the rear left by the tv tuner etc? In fact which box is it!?

not sure what year your car is but up 2010 they are a standard camera 12v 2pin plug with a coaxial for the video after that they go to HD cameras but still a coaxial but they have a 4pin connector insteed of the 2pin. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Mine is a 2006. And without having removed my camera to see what the problem is (I imagine its maybe full of water?) is it a matter of pulling it through a little way and snipping the wires and soldering in new non OE camera or is it easier to get a camera with a long enough cable to pull through to the original connection somewhere in the left rear corner of the car? (touchscreen car)
