Front fan dead

Hi,

The front fan on my 2006 (07 model year) RR doesn't work. I've had the final stage resistor changed, which made it work for about 30 minutes before it died again.

Had the FSR changed again, fan worked for a weekend and then died again. The garage is telling me the actual fan motor must be faulty and causing the FSRs to blow.

They've said to replace the fan the whole dashboard needs to come off which is very labour intensive and will cost around £1600.

Does this sound right? It's odd that just after FSR replacement and the fan works, it works well. Could the fan motor be still broken somehow causing the FSR to blow? Also is removing the dashboard so labour intensive it takes 4 days?

You could try lubrication first.
