The SC is due an MOT at the main dealer next month.

I've changed the OE bulbs to LED on - front sidelight, front cornerning bulbs, rear tail/fog bulbs & all round indicators/side repeaters.

I can swap them all back to OE before the MOT in an hour. Is a main dealer likely to fail it on any of those bulbs though (don't want 2 trips for MOT purposes)?

Well, last time my D3 went in (July 2013) it had one LED sidelight and one filament sidelight, they remarked on it but it wasn't a fail. Graham

Ours passed. I have led sidelights, and they flicker on start, so I thought that might give game away  Alcohol and eBay is never a good mix

Mine was failed on the MOT at the dealers due to the flicker on startup - however the service department exchanged them for standard bulbs, sorted the test and just told me about it when i collected the car - handing me my LED sidelight bulbs back.

Thanks for the replies. Given my track record with the MD, I'll change them back to OE before the test... and it will fail on something else anyway

MY LED sidelights have passed 3 MOTs no problem .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember

Before fitting them, the research I'd done said all of these LED bulbs should pass the MOT. However, I was wary about main dealers maybe making an issue of them, hence this post. To save comment/ advisories and/or the prospect of something like the Dave699 'fail', I'll present the car with the OE bulbs in. I can swap them in under an hour but can't risk/ afford the time/ inconvenience of potential repeat dealer trips for a re-test

Passed with LED bulbs fitted.
