Percentage your L322 depreciated from when purchased?

For partakers, this is a bit of fun/ general interest only and is intended to be answered only in percentages %

It is *not* intended for people to post how much GPB/other they originally paid nor how much money they parted with the car for.

Some purists might not like the question saying it's not a true reflection but what's gone is gone and so your answer is not to include consumables/ expenditure like fuel, service, maintenance or warranty costs.

Just the quick and dirty percentage of depreciation ie. based on how much you originally paid and how much you sold/ PX'd it for after x number of months and x number of miles.

Again the question is seeking out percentage answers, e.g:

19% Very Happy

29% Whistle

69% Banging Head

Mine's depreciated about 70%, so it's worth less than a third of it's purchase value, but.....I've had it 5 years, and it was a fairly cheap car when I bought it!

The nominal values aren't so bad. I think my car has probably cost less in depreciation over 5 years than some are paying on a newer car for one year.

Suppose that's testament to the approach of buying a car that someone else has first 'enjoyed' Mr. Green

With the exception of those lucky enough to speculate, buy and sell for the same or more!

2016 Range Rover Vogue SE SDV8 Corris Grey

Mine has appreciated by 7% in 21 months and I've done 43,000 miles

Bought a 2004 4.4 with 100k in May 2013 and I was offered 7% more than I paid for it last week with 143k

Made 6% and 4% on the previous 2 cars - both Jag XJ V8's bought on the same principle.

Yes my maintenance bills are a bit higher but even offsetting that against minimal depreciation - I'm happy. Current Fleet:-
2018 Discovery 5 3.0 HSE
2021 Ford Ranger Wildtrack
2019 Ford Mustang Bullitt 5.0 V8
1993 Defender 90 200TDI Pickup

Gone - not forgotten
2016 L405 4.4 SDV8 Vogue SE
2012 L322 4.4 Westminster
2004 L322 4.4 V8 Autobiography LE
2000 P38 RR 4.0 HSE (ex Clarkson test car)

New Zealand 2010 Range Rover Autobiography 5.0 SC V8 Galway Green

I would have to ask Gary that, he has a much better understanding of the market and I don't have any since I don't keep track of the market there. My 5.0 has done very little miles since I bought it, maybe 6000 at the most (almost 1 year since I bought it).

The 4.2 however has taken a big wack if I do sell it now but I have had that for 4 years now, plus a lot of money spent on repairs (even with free of charge mechanics working on the car). I would estimate some 40% at least if I get the money for it that has been "promised". MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

When I bought a new RR Sport back in 2010 my wife and I were admiring it in the delivery showroom and as the dealer principal handed me the keys I asked the question "how much will the car be worth the minute I drive out through the showroom door" ?....his reply " mmmh not sure, why not check out We buy any car .com when you get home" Shocked ....I didn't have the balls to try!! Laughing I guess the answer to your question would be pretty brutal Whistle The forums premier drug dealer and human trafficking consultant

Are you talking new and used?
Mine was 5 years old when I bought it; now – just over 5 years later – it seems to be worth roughly half what I paid for it, so 50%.
Not bad, methinks. It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.

Meant for those who bought used L322. Apologies

I love your logic, Joe90!
I wonder if I can argue the same with my bank manager and others? It's "bébéchoon", ackcherly, with accents. 'Steve' to my chums.
