OK, brand new LR sensor has just been fitted and the lights and wipers STILL don't Censored work!!!!

Can anyone, please, suggest what else could be wrong?

Thoughts:-

1. 'Hard reset'. i.e. disconnect battery and leave for 15 minutes.

2. Diagnostic tool investigation from dealer when she goes in for a service next week.

Can't think of anything else. Si. <This is my name.

Have they caught/cut a wiring loom somewhere whilst cutting out the old screen?

I cannot get anyone to 'admit' to cutting any wiring, so can only assume they've not.

I did a quick check on Google and found the below link which suggests getting a LR 'screen, as has been said many times before. The symptoms are EXACTLY what mine is doing.

http://www.rangerovers.net/forum/6-range-r...del-2.html

I'll see what the specialist says on Tuesday and then present the above link to the windscreen company if they can't find a less invasive cure.

Thanks Craig and Stan. Thumbs Up Bow down Si. <This is my name.

Final update here.

I had a Pilkington windscreen fitted earlier and everything now works perfectly.

The windscreen company still insisted mine was the first RR they've done that needed the OE 'screen.

Thanks again for all your helpful comments. Thumbs Up Si. <This is my name.

I had this too...also with National Windscreens.

The glass was poor quality and affecting the rain sensor and the AHBA. Certain VIN numbers will insist on genuine glass for this reason.

The irony to all this is I noticed a tiny flaw in the Pilkington 'screen last night on the way home. It's about 1" diameter and on the lower passenger side. The flaw gives a small 's-shaped kink to things in that area.

The previous non-OE screens have been flawless in that regard.

The Auto Windscreens manager has just called me to check all is well and I mentioned it; not through a complaint, but more out of amusement. He's offered to replace this 'screen if I'm not happy, which was very decent of him. I declined. It's taken me three weeks to get everything working and I really don't want the hassle for such little gain. Si. <This is my name.

I had screen replaced about 6 months ago by Autoglass, first fitter on site was very good and careful then a monkey turned up to help him take the old screen out.

They fitted the new one and it looked like a reasonable job but my auto wipers and auto lights didn't work.....

Turned out they had cut the wires in the headlining.

To their credit Autoglass handled it very well and paid my local dealer to repair the wiring which was behind the sunglasses holder in the roof but this just goes to prove that it is possible to cut the wires on the screen removal. 2016 (L405) Autobiography in Black with Ivory - for ULEZ

Glad it's sorted Si,

Did you have to point out it should be LR/ Pilkington or was that a natural progression due to the first effort not working?

Ryan, I think we both arrived at the same conclusion.

They first replaced the sensor and when that didn't cure things, and after having two non-OE screens, they couldn't do much else other than go the Pilkington route. Si. <This is my name.

Just Pilkington.

Now for some bad news:

Just spoke to Rovertune (they've got my SC today to fit new fuel senders) and they tell me the interior lights are dead. They 'out of curiosity' spent two hours trying to fix them. They put her in Transport Mode, switched modules and checked fuses, etc. Nothing made any difference. I've not been charged for this, which was rather decent of them.

So.... There's now a high chance the new screen, when fitted, has pinched a wire for the interior lights! So it looks like yet ANOTHER call to Auto Windscreens tomorrow.

Truly and unutterably fed up!! Sad Si. <This is my name.
