Ignition locking

hi guys
Was wondering if anybody knew what this fault could be before I go and get a diagnostic test

Sometimes when I put the key in the ignition it doesn't turn at all as if it's locked. If I disconnect the battery for 10 or 20 seconds and try to restart its all fine again

It isn't a problem with the battery itself as it is a new battery.
it particularly happens after a short journey with lots of electrics on. Heated seats. Lights etc etc. the. When we go to restart the ignition has this fault.
could it be some fault with the immobiliser or something ?
Thanks in advance guys

Thanks Stan
Yes this is exactly the same issue. However it's not the battery as it's completely new. And yes by disconnecting and reconnect ting the battery it resolves the problem every time

Just wondered if anybody found the underlying issue

I don't know if its the same problem, but it sounds similar to a problem I had.

I had to get the ignition switches replaced. Sure Ive seen something somewhere where you can clean them up
but I couldn't get to them.
Supposedly its a common problem.
Try looking at this post http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic23398.html
Hope this helps.
