It took a bit of wiggling as the 110ah is about 50mm longer then the OEM.

it didn't fix my FBH problem though so that will need dealer assistance me thinks. Good jo it's under warranty. Wink

GJOB. Let us know what the dealer said the problem was! Thanks.

They confirmed my FBH is FUBAR Sad They're on to the warranty co. to see if itsd covered.

I'm going to get them to give me the old one back anyway so I can maybe get Webasto involved.

Just replaced my battery with a Bosch Silver something or other, 920CCA/110Ah 5 year guarantee for £161 inc. VAT

I never realised how useless my old battery was, was an 88Ah/680CCA and it was already down to 11v after sitting for 2 days. Needless to say, the starter motor turns the engine over twice as fast, no air suspension inactive warning due to the low voltage and the interior lights have stopped pulsing every few seconds with the engine running.

Definitely the most worth while thing I've done. Hopefully no more worries abot the car not starting after being left a few days. 2006 Mercedes CLS

Their has to be a market for all these batteries that are not man enough for Range Rovers, but fine in other applications. Confused

Ok Guys, so feeling pretty 'kin stupid here........

2007 RRV TDV8 RHD
Varta 610 402 092

Just tried replacing my battery with the varta, as per thread, and the B*st**d thing will not fit.

Fits on the tray OK but there is not enough clearance to fit the +tve lead to the terminal!!

On the +tve lead where the terminal clamp is there's a rectangular box (fuse?), is this the norm as everyone seems to have had no problems with theirs (or is this a post 2006 issue i'm experiencing?)....it's this unit that's about 7mm too wide to fit in the battery compartment (width ways) and is stopping me fitting the varta.

Any help / advice would be very much appreciated indeed!! Big Cry

Definately the right size for 2002+ but not sure about post 2006 Facelift models.... Confused

Just checked my 2006 Vogue SE SC which has original Land Rover part and there is about 4-5 inches of clearance above the positive terminal block!

Not sure how yours can be such a tight fit?

Hi Gary

Thanks for the quick reply, hope you are keeping well Thumbs Up

It all fits OK but the +tve won't connect, do you know if the +tve usually has this box/fuse on the end?

Thx

I have just fitted a 110 Bosch battery and had similar issues as you describe with the positive terminal. I managed to get mine on after I had used a couple of big levers to move the battery as far over to the outside as possible Thumbs Up

Land Rover Battery must be thinner? (less wide)

Is the "rectangular box"you are talking about, the Pyrotechnic Charge

Hi Simon
I did think about the clarkson approach (read hammer) but was a bit concerned as where the cable attached to the box there is exposed cable (looks as though it's not stretched or pulled) but was mindfully that it would be resting against metal chassis- could isolate it of course. So big lever and push battery to the right then?

Hi Gary
Yes the OE LR unit has about 2-3" of play at least, I went for the Varta 110ah as had a few cold morning non-starts......thanks for the photo by the way, sorry was flat out at work when I was replying earlier ( Confused Contradiction maybe).

Hi Johnte
I wondered that, maybe, it does say fuse but to be honest when I was changing it today I was short on time and goal focused so just tried different ways to get around the issue.

If I get a chance tomorrow I'll note part numbers and text on item just so we know and maybe I'll try to 'tease' that battery in as Simon has suggested as it's about 5-7mm clearance needed. Would fit fine if I raised the battery by 2" but then the clamps will be too short which would mean extending the studs.....

Thanks to everyone who's helped, most appreciated.
