Number Plates

Probably asking the obvious but this Range Rover I recently purchased had private plates, the previous owner is having those transferred so I obviously need to get new plates made up when the V5 comes back with the original reg.

Question is, where do people go for this? I am assuming the usual Halfords can do this but I note the front plate is fixed on with screws and the rear has no screws so I assume it's just tape.

Screws at the front and tape at the back? I have not yet took the rear plate off yet to find out if there are any mounting holds underneath.

I'd go with Dan or Halfords.

Dan first, to get that main dealer stamp on the plates. Always looks better. Thumbs Up

Had a set of plates made last year for my motorhome by Halfords and was rather impressed by their quality. Si. <This is my name.

You can get a trim that goes around the front number plate and makes it a Stick on affair. Looks a bit more Range Rover to me having it than without Smile FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

ive said it before, but, make sure your insurance company is aware that the car is on the reg you are now driving it on. you must update their records. its not the same computer as DVLA. i know this to my cost!

just call them and confirm the reg as the plate now says.

yes you can stick the rears on, but you need about 6 of the sticky pads, as two are a bit 'lean' stick it with selloptae along the top, check its fit from a good distance, and lift up and peel stickers etc.

Make sure you get the larger-sized rear plate, always annoying to see a standard one on the back.

yes - RE insurance, they are aware and as soon as the new registration comes through, they'll charge me a nice admin fee to update my policy Smile
