Spraying your back box.....

Back box/muffler is looking a little grey and faded. There seems to be plenty of MATT black spray paints around but i cant seem to find a high temperature heat resistant spray in SATIN black...............can anyone recommend me one that they have used which does indeed come out with a satin look rather than matt.

thanks!

I started a thread on this a few weeks ago - I think you'll find some pointers here....

See this historic thread:
http://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic18052.html

I used Hammerite high heat Matt black as couldn't get Satin high heat at time of purchase.

I was going to buy Halfords Satin Black spray, not high heat but was put off by shop staff saying not suitable for exhaust heat. Then I found that in fact a number of respected forum members use the standard Satin with no problems and also the box doesn't get that hot anyway.

What I used has lasted best part of 2 years very well. I'll soon buy Halfords Satin black and do it again as it looks better than Matt IMO.

Thumbs Up

but to name a few places to get sating black and as said you dont need heat resistant paint nor do you have to scrub the exhaust clean to apply the spray.. ... - .- -.

I use Rustins Satin Black for Wood and Metal and apply it by brush.
Looks good and never had any bother with it staying on.
