So I recently bought a new RR (new to me anyway) and sent off the necessary docs to DVLA for them to process the plate change.

I've not got the new docs back from the DVLA yet (in the post I suspect) but on checking their website (vehicle enquiry site) I see that my reg is now showing as being on the new car. (I typed is my car taxed in google )

So according to the DVLA my number plate has been assigned to the car (as it shows it is taxed and the registration date/colour etc...)

Do you think it's safe for me to put the plates on it even though I don't have the docs back yet..???

I would put the plates on. Print out the on line information and keep it with you until the docs arrive in case of any, unlikely, queries. John

Well if its on the dvla website as registered to your car i don't see why not , anyhow if you get a dig do you not get 7 days to produce the doc's so by that time your paperwork will be through ... i think anyhow ====================================

The Police National Computer is looking at the same database as the one you were looking at. In fact, the one you were looking at was probably a little behind as the information is generally updated in batch as opposed to live.

It could be said that you may be more likely to be flagged for not having put the new plates on!

I did tell them it would get the new number when the paper work came through. It's free but I just need to ring them but had totally forgetten about it.
