HVAC/Heater

I have a couple of questions/problems regarding the heating/ac in my FFRR.

Firstly if I use the front controls manually the fan operates at different speeds and the temperature of the air coming out of the foot and screen vents changes when not on auto, also if turned to cold then the air becomes nice and cold so AC appears to be working. Face vents blow hot and cold according to the separate controls.

The problem comes when used on auto I normally have the driver set at 18-20 and the passenger between 20 and 22. The FF warms up nicely but then to me seems to get too hot especially in the footwell. Similar problem in warmer temps that it gets a bit too warm for me unless temp is turned down much lower or taken off auto settings.

I also have a problem in the rear in that the vents tend to always blow warm or hot air and dot not totally turn off. I can get cooler air if I turn the rear temperature to cold and the fan to max and run for a bit then turn down the temp. Fan does work at all speeds manually.

I have cleaned the little vent on the dash as this was very dusty but no significant difference.

Does this sound like a resistor (hedgehog thing) problem or any other ideas before i just throw parts at the problem randomly. Assuming that the above is not just normal for a FFRR

FFRR is a AJV8 facelift with the earlier style dash and heaters.

Thoughts/ suggestions appreciated.

mine sometimes does similar in that auto doesnt really keep it at the right temp once its got it there, i would be interested in the answer too.

ref the rear heaters if you turn the fan to off it should run as per passenger controls? i believe the hot/cold only changes the heat range from the available heat source as set by passenger control, ie set passenger to 20deg, then on max rear heat it will be 20Deg. Cheers

James
