Whistle poweful uk, EXCHANGE, Whistle can't think why Wink
Think it states 10 coats of lacquer in some of the spiel on there, just make sure it's a body shop that does high end or classic paint work and you should be right. Failing that there is a mob that I've heard of near Hatfield that specialise in polyester lacquer spraying, that's the stuff that they put on real piano's and Rollers Wink Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... hi, just a quick note, if you cup holder sticks when it slides out it is quite an easy fix...and can be bought for a good price, but if the catch is broke then leave it...
the cup holder over time twists with the heat and will not slide out under its own steam, it needs to be dismantled and the draw base sanded, less then 1mm and it will be as good as new.. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Because they are used as core units! Simple... The plastic panel is still underneath the piano black covering obviously!

They are sent of to a factory and refinished Rolling Eyes And NO... you simply cannot replicate a Piano black finish with paint... So, if you want the real macoy! You need to pay for it! But... Painting car look very good if done VERY WELL...

I agree that you can't replicate a piano black finish with just paint, traditional piano black is not paint but black lacquer, built up to a thick layer and then sanded with various grades of sand paper ending up with 3000 grit before it is polished.
However I do not agree that this finish can not be replicated, with a flawless basecoat and a lot of high gloss clear (lacquer) , followed by a lot of sanding with sand paper that's smoother that writing paper. And good polish ending up with something like Brasso for the final polish (super fine), you will have some thing that you'll not be able to tell the difference. Just look at the show cars that are painted properly, by skilled painters, not the robot crap finish that we all accept as shiny.
It ain't quick, I know I've done it, I managed 22" of reflected shine on my old Mini in red Cellulose paint and no lacquer. But it took 5 coats of primer, and 9 coats of paint with 1000 grit paper to flat off between coats, Censored arm felt like it was made of lead after, Shocked , not going to try something that big again Laughing
Bad enough polishing the re lacquer on my guitar! It all takes time, you can't rush it, cos it don't work like that. Before you can put any colour on you must have a perfect surface to paint on to, so no rushing the primer, and flat it off until it's a semi matt surface, and then do it again!
The modern cheats way is to use a black base coat and then a polyester resin lacquer, same stuff you made the paper weights out of with the pennies or dead what ever as a kid, clear cast. You throw the lacquer on really heavy drips (0.5mm +) and all and leave it to set. Then its sand, sand, sand, followed by polish, it costs because it takes time and care, materials don't really come in to the equaision. Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!
