I have bought a new drivers door rubber seal as the existing one is a bit frayed at the bottom. Does the old one just pull out? or is there more to it?

Which one are you referring to?

It's the one on the body that goes around the door frame. I think they tend to wear as they get trodden on.

Still slightly confused my friend... As you should not be able to tread on it as you have Aluminium tread plates sir

Right... Couldn't remember it sticking out from memory...

OK, remove the Ali sill plate (screwdriver underneath and jemmy it up) then you can pull (towards you) the kick panel around the bonnet pull... Remove the B pillar trim (to allow the black trim below it to be removed) 2 pop out trim pegs in the top... THEN>>> you can finally remove it and replace

Its quite a lot more involved then at first glance sir...

Done! Not as bad as I was expecting. The replacement seal was about 5cm oversize so I had to cut it down. I was worried by this, but I double checked it was fitted fully into the corners all around first. I used a block of wood covered in some rag and tapped it into the awkward spots. Only needed to pull the trim aside apart from the treadplate. The hardest part was getting the treadplate back into position as the clips had moved.

You shouldn't have to cut the new seal, are you sure you fitted it tightly into the corners?
