United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

And to be honest if there is one advocate of land rover products it is Mr Clarkson. Bolivia special, he bought a classic, afaik he had an l322, the crew used them for years as camera cars though they now seem to have watched to discos, and I still remember when he reviewed the Ferrari ff, he drew the conclusion after drifting it round an ice track that if he were to want to drive fast across Europe and up to a ski resort the. He wouldn't use the Ferrari on special tyres like they were testing, he would choose the completely standard Range Rover the crew were using to film it..... There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Just a heads up about the Porsche 928, if you do a vehicle check for H 982 FLK, the DVLA computer says not there! So it was not a coincidence that the number plate read H982 FLK, it was a so called joke, which ended up blowing up their faces. It was bad enough that they went to southern Argentina in the first place, thats like walking around at German international footy match wearing a 'We Won The War' T shirt and wondering why you got your head kicked in. What rattles my cage is that they wasted hundreds of thousands of pounds of our money, for 2 hours of dribble.
There have been some very good Top Gear specials in the past, but the last few years they have gone down hill, and they would appear to be picking up speed. It would appear that they have run out of ideas and are scraping the bottom of the barrel. Why can't they just stick to doing the stuff that works, like driving to the North Pole, crossing Africa in 3 normal cars (twice), Bolivia, Vietnam, etc.
Why can't they recreate the London to Sydney, do the Pari Dakar, Baja 500, Rain Forest Challenge. There are hundred of challenges that they could do with out the need to p*ss off the locals. You'd have thought that they'd learned their lesson when they upset the locals in the USA, wrong, they have got to keep on winding up the rest of the world, Top Gear is trying to give us a worse reputation that the football hooligans, and I fear succeeding Evil or Very Mad Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Don't like it and don't like them. Prefer Fifth Gear. At least it is about the cars.

One thing I can't figure out is how Clarkson can ever sit down with Hammond up his **** all the time. Shocked John

Vicki Butler-Henderson was the ONLY decent thing about 5th gear....even Tiff Nedell was quoted as saying it was a "2nd option"...terrible programme...

I do get why ppl are annoyed at this, but it's entertainment....it's not a car show for purists or those wanting valuable information....unless of course this site is littered with chaps who can afford a $300k supercar

There are a host of times they have 'wasted' tax payers money, rather they waste it, than the government Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........

I am not sure where anyone gets this notion of Top Gear "wasting licence payer's money".....it is the biggest selling programme the BBC make - see quote below;

Top Gear was BBC Worldwide's biggest-selling TV show internationally last year and – alongside its fellow mega-brands Doctor Who, BBC Earth and Lonely Planet – helped earn more than £200m in revenue and more than £40m in profits.

Since this quote from 2010, it appears to have grown further still Thumbs Up

Firstly Stan Shocked , DVLA must have had so many looks at that car reg they have removed it. But the 'i' paper 6/12/2014 claim that "the use of the H982 FLK plate was a "coincidence", since the team had brought alternatives." and that later the plate was changed to H1 VAE. So who's telling porkies? DVLA don't list it and they had a car full of false plates...........
And it's not the tax payers money they are wasting, it's licence payers' money that they are wasting. So all of you that legally own a TV and are under the age of 70, you paid for that cr*p, Happy? And how long will Top Gear be the best selling program if they upset the rest of the world? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

There's plenty of stuff on TV and the BBC that I don't watch or listen to, but I still 'pay' for that.

It's a pointless argument.

Top Gear is only one of thousands of programmes across TV and radio that's broadcast. I've never listened, or have any intention of listening to, The Archers. Do I get annoyed by it? No. It's just an indescribably tiny part of my licence fee. Same goes for football. I hate the game, but would I get anywhere by asking for a license fee reduction? Not a chance, but I still contribute to something I loathe in the same way others will do for any other BBC production, direct or indirect, that they similarly hate.

But back to TG. It's the same repeated thing that the haters simply don't watch the programme. No-one is forcing you to watch unless you've nothing better to do than moan. And judging from any comments across various forums, it appears that many people who 'hate Top Gear' will watch the show just to gripe that it's another hour of their lives they won't get back.

And if the haters don't watch, they can't truly say how bad they thought it was. It's laughable. Si. <This is my name.

Upset is wee bit strong, mildly miffed is more like it. I just wish that they had stuck to what they are good at, ie, lorriests, car for under £1000, reliable BLMC car, super car for under £10,000, BMW 24 hour racer. And all the other wonderful things that they have done, that haven't upset the natives, or involved trying to silly for the sake of it. And all the good specials that they have done like Drive to the North Pole, across Africa, Boliva, even the races that they have had were more entertaining, across London by car bike and boat, Italy to the UK Bugatti verses Plane, UK to Switzerland by car and public transport, etc.
What will they do next? Sherman tank to Moscow via North Korea? Ice Cream van across Alaska in December? Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

I don't hate the programme. On the occasion I have watched it I find the presenters, psrticularly Clarkson and Hammond, unpleasant. May is not objectionable - just boring. That's my view which has nothing to do with what it costs or how the money is spent. John

I turned to a different channel as soon as Clarkson said they were driving to the Belgrano home port in UK registered vehicles. I thought it very insensitive indeed.

Thanks for the correction, n1cktdv8. I do try to keep up with British slang, but I don't always get it right. Embarassed

CeeGee Good point. Top Gear makes money. That's not an artistic argument, but it does counter the wastes money proposition. When faced with a show I don't like, I just switch it off and let those who do enjoy it get on with it.

Top Gear faces these comments because it is popular. I guess it's easier to tell that Doctor Who and Downton Abbey are fictional. Mr. Green
