United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

I can see how it was provocative but what are the chances of them being able to get that registration legally on a Porsche 928...

It is genuinely registered to a 928, in the uk, but to do that they would have either had to find the reg and transfer it onto the car which would be premeditated and someone would have noticed, or happen upon a good enough 928 with that reg. At any one time how many 928's are for sale, a Few at best. So the chance of deliberately having that reg on clarksons car was quite small.....

Personally I think they were on a hiding to nothing whatever they did, the Argentinian nationalists had gotten wind of their presence and we're going to make trouble regardless of the plate, it just gave them a good excuse. The large mob attack was organised and to be honest i would hazard a guess that they were mostly rent-a-mob types. the police seemed to be very helpful and as organised as you could expect them to be with the resources they had, what other choice did they have in the face of the size of the angry mob they were facing![/url] There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I stopped watching that dross a while ago. I think the egos have overtaken the content. The only credible person is James May as he doesn't take himself too seriously.

I agree with the need for a change of format but I am fearful that any changes would still include GC as he is the franchise and RH as his sidekick.

Time to call it a day me thinks Big Cry

I wonder...
Is it possible they saw the 928 for sale, someone made the connection to 1982 Falklands and decided it would be a great idea to use it in a top gear special and the whole programme started there ??
I will never believe they were making a programme and just so happened to buy a car with that number and nobody noticed. Previously..

Feedback from a few other forums I am on seems to suggest that people were less than impressed with this years special and as much as I quite like the show I have to agree that it was all jokes that have been done before.

It really did highlight the "support" crew that travel with them, I always wondered how hammond managed ro repair a sheared front wishbone on the suburu last year in the middle of nowhere and with a few tools - and smashed alloy wheels on the Volvo V70R were somehow repaired........ clearly it's not just 3 guys going for it with some old bangers - they have mechanics and an abundace of spares to help out when they break something.

The bit that got me Shocked was when May was thrown from his horse!!! Shocked Ouch... Laughing Embarassed

Then why oh why film the other two walking off into town to buy bolt croppers whilst clearly showing emergency vehicles for May parked next to the three "star cars"!!! How did they miraculously gain access through the locked gate? Why keep up the charade? Pointless... Rolling Eyes

as it was filmed at a distance it wouldn't surprise me if it was a stunt man that got thrown off the horse and not May.. ... - .- -.

I haven't seen TG because we don't have TV anymore. Pity I missed it because I too travelled through that part of the world in March this year and it is simply stunning, harsh but stunning. I would have loved to drive around a bit longer in a FFRR but that was unlikely to happen even if I hadn't resigned.

Bottomline is that TG is getting a bit "a formula" and not that interesting anymore, well I'm getting tired of it for sure. I do like the specials when it is a bit "Camel Trophy" like but when it starts becoming silly (ridiculous mods to the cars) then I sign of.

Sad because I did enjoy it for years. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

Is it true that Top Gear will be moved to a more appropriate channel in 2015?

I hear the CBBC channel is the favourite choice. Rolling with laughter

Well, I quite liked it.

For a start, my own Mustang was involved in the UK preparation of the programme.

Secondly, I smiled at the apparent ineffectiveness of Hammond's Mach 1. I know the type of Mach 1 he had is much better than that. I know where his example came from and suspected it could be somewhat below-par, which it appeared to be.

On a more general note, yes some of the scenes were a bit obvious and tired, but there was still a lot to enjoy for someone of my incredibly limited intelligence. Wibble. I rather enjoyed the beaver comments, Clarkson's personal revelation regarding the 928 and the Butch Cassidy parodies. Si. <This is my name.

I eat rat poison.

A man ain't truly been insulted until he stands buck naked in front of a woman and she didn't even notice. Or care.

I think some are taking it all too seriously - its a bit of light hearted entertainment, which to be honest at times (clichés and egos aside) was quite funny Thumbs Up

Come on, I cant believe anyone wouldn't have realised that there was a large team with/around them, but a crew 31 people did surprise me Shocked

I quite liked it, but it's looking a bit tired. Hamster in particular just seems to repeat Clarkson's metaphors.

Reminded me to watch that film again/search for nude pictures of Katharine Ross.

Can't find any fault with Top Gear for the ending. They went for a game of footie and ended up being chased out of town by a bunch of thugs who were set on being offended.

Loved the scenery and I plan to visit by boat some day. Coleague of mine went - it's like Switzerland by the sea.

Anyone got liking UK Top Gear should try watching USA Top Gear. Very quickly you'll be running back to 'Gaza' and 'the Hamster' shouting, "All is forgiven!"

It's Jezza Whistle

If you take it seriously you are never going to like TG. It stopped being about a car report programme a very long time ago. This is entertainment, and I for one....and millions like me....like it. Don't go all "Rangie" on me now, I am being realistic....if you had a programme dedicated solely on, for example, Range Rovers....it'd bore the pants off people...."this week Jeremy takes a look at the new L405, Hammond has a peak at doing a 2012 upgrade and James fit's some supercharger side vents".... Yawn

Be real chaps.... Is this where I put the car details and a bit about myself ?........
