Looks a nice car, but nothing OTT on the spec.

The tow bar is a third party one and not LR

If the sound system is really premium, it will say Logic 7 on the grilles, otherwise its the standard (still pretty good) system

Looks nice but as others have said nothing OTT on the spec. Price is about right.

It's actually not too far from me.

Tow bar does ruin the looks a bit but that's something you could sort at a later date.

hi, yes I heard the turbos can be problomatic, is this really a common issue? I have also got the price down to 8k for it which looking around seems a good price?
Cheers all.

The turbos have been known to go - seems to be a bigger problem on the sport for some reason.

2007 seemed a bad year for alternators - they seem quite fragile. - the Rear calipers can become sticky but refurb units are relatively inexpensive - mine also needed a new air suspension compressor, but again, not huge money

ummm yes, the towbar, surely you would fit a removable one for the few extra quid?

one other thing I was wondering is what the gearboxes are like in the tdv8?, having a 2005 x5 currently with the zf box I know is pretty chocolate, mine shunted slightly when I bought it 40k miles ago but has not got any worse although the rear bangs from time to time (subframe bushes going I think).

Have a great Christmas eve !

A few extra quid Laughing You'll need to sit down to hear the price of the official unit.....

Gearboxes seem solid - not heard of any particular issues with them - the older TD6 had that problem.

OEM DAB on a 2007 car? Not likely.

“Fully loaded” is a oft used phrase but in reality is means little, even lees on this example has it doesn’t have climate seats, RSE etc etc etc. Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue
Had- 2008 TDV8 Vogue SE in Java black
Had - 2007 S/C in Stornoway Grey

Certainly looks like a standard Vogue - nothing wrong with that unless your a real softy and want climate controlled seats. Personally I wear underpants Laughing . From the pictures both seats look well worn and in need of refurbishing so may be worth pricing the cost of that in as jobs to do. Also check the heated steering wheel works as well as all seat heaters as common failures with a well used motor.

thanks for the replies !

coming from a 2005 x5 the toys are/seem much better, even at the vogue level and unfortunately my budget won't stretch further than 8k...ish. The mpg does not phase me at all because on my 18 mile round trip every day , the X5 is only doing 26 mpg anyhow and does 25 mpg with the twin wheel caravan behind. I actually thought the seats looked pretty mint condition, maybe I am missing something??
Yes....just looked at the proper towbar......eye popping price !!!!

Have a brill crimbo everyone and thank you for all the comments !

It does look reasonable but not screaming out at me - pretty much standard Vogue spec (which is actually pretty good) and aftermarket DAB.

The comment about the seats probably comes from the last pic in the advert - the drivers seat base looks well worn and also looks like it has been poorly touched up in an effort to hide the inevitable scratches that really show on darker seats. It also looks like it has almost worn right through in one spot.

Call me a cynic but to my mind, not sorting out one of the first things you see when you get in the car would kind of have me worried about the multitude of things you cannot see.

Good luck in your search mate and Merry Crimbo to you too )

Cheers, Mark

The seat just looks normal not me. Car has over 100k, the driver seat has some sagging which is only to be expected. The other marks just looks like water (you can see it is raining), there is no touch up or holes, I think it's water and a reflection of the interior light you see.
Looks like a decent car to me and if you have negotiated a £grand off the price then it's now a pretty good deal.
