United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Java Black
Battery time.

Hi. I have a suspected dying battery and am just wondering how its possible to have a battery problem ie it drains quickly while engine is off but yet it fires up the car every morning without fail. I had it tested and it showed to drop to around 12.2v when engine is off. Also it seems that someone has removed the jump start positive from the bulk head. Any body have any idea why they may have done so. And what it should look like. Its a 2007 tdv8 vogue se. Thanks Confused

Top left with the red tape around the lead and the "+" on the front of it...

12.2 is enough voltage to start the car, if it's got a parasitic drain then it would be much less...

A new battery is usually around 12.4 to 12.6...

Yep defo missing from mine. It doesn't drain on its own its more of like having boot open for 20 mins and then its flat. I set timed climate to come on the other morning it had been on for 15 mins and it flattend battery. Also random things like tv station memory being lost and audio settings re setting .

Have you had the alternator done yet?

Mine was doing the same last year, and the alternator was starting to die, spiking high charging voltages which then Censored the battery. Monitor the charging voltage on the hidden menu screen, a quick search will reveal how, and tell you if it is spiking whilst driving.

Mine also used to be flat after 20 with the boot open and would be done after a fbh session. New battery and alternator have sorted it now though.

Tv and radio station memories can also sometimes be lost when switching between keys, there is a software update which deals with it👍 There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I will check the voltage as you mentiond. Intresting that you mentiond the key because thinking about it i cant remember which key i was using when i programmed the tv. The other day and have been using both. Although the battery is as old as the car its probably due one.
