where ever you get a battery make sure you get one locally so that in the event of it going faulty you can take it back and get a replacement...try doing that mail order . ... - .- -.

I have bought my last two batteries from http://tayna.co.uk, more or less best price around, delivered to your door. I have used the Varta Silver as opposed to the Bosch. (Not forgetting to mention I now have one in the front and one in the back which should keep the HDC Inactive message at bay this winter!) .

The simple test is if it starts the car without issue in the morning. Even better to run the fbh for s by before hand but this could push most batteries to the limit FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Buy a half decent multimeter - really cheap these days and measure the voltage on the battery. 14.4 is about right for when running (ie alternator charging) below 11 and you're going to struggle to start. As you say 65 miles should be enough by a country mile.

Useful accurate voltmeter to install in your car without drilling holes etc, mounted in place with velcro.

Starting the car doesn't let you know about battery health. On old cars, yes. On new ones, no. The computers will mask the problem until the battery completely knackered. The clue for impending failure is a bunch of ominous warning of various systems failing as the computers try to make do without enough power.

For reconditioning I would say it's best to take the battery out as the high voltage used for desulphation can create quite a bit of heat. 2012 5.0L S/C
