Just got back from shopping over the line in Washington. Very pleasantly shocked at the fuel prices.

Go on, what are they in the States? 18 cents a (tiny US) gallon?

I put in the mid-price petrol. The AJV8 4.4 is the only one without a "premium fuel required" and it runs beautifully on the mid-range juice.

The mid-range was listed as 2.599 US$/US gallon. (The others were 10¢ a gallon more and less.)

So, with the calculator, that's $3.121 for a proper (Imperial) gallon, or £2.04/gallon at today's rates, or 44.9p a litre.

Wow, that's a lot of maths. On the easier side, I had about a quarter tank left and got it filled for $40USD. That's noticeably less than usual.

Yes, I've heard of the Middle East prices. Venezuela and Bolivia are also very good, but not THAT good.

And as per the above comments, yes, I doubt it will last very long, so we may as well enjoy it while we can.

1.057 for petrol and 1.127 for diesel at asda yesterday.
petrol may make the pound a litre mark yet, but a big difference in price to the devils own.
