if you take off the steps [easy] then you'll be left with front flaps that have a 'cut out' in them where the end of the step went in...you can take these front flaps off but you'll have screw holes left and probably a dis-colouration line showing...you can replace the 'step' flaps with normal ones.. ... - .- -.

Ok, thanks Stan, so if I take them off and ordera set of regular (non side-step flaps) then they will attach in the same screw holes as the removed flaps I hope.

you might find that the replacement flaps wont marry up on the holes...if you look at the powerfuluk video on the fitting of steps/flaps you'll see that the step/flaps have different holes to the normal flaps .....but it shouldnt matter as they will be hidden.. ... - .- -.

If you do want to go flapless the small plastic panel with the screw holes is cheap to replace. |

The back bumper isn't though - and when you factor in the cost of paint its not cheap - the flaps and side runners look good IMHO - plus make it easier for youngsters and the mature passengers to get in

Rear flaps are normally attached inside the wheel arch no painted panel damage.

If fitted correctly by main dealers/professionally, rear flaps should have the same M8 nut & bolt through the side of the flap setup as the fronts... Meaning, when removed you should have (if fitted properly) a hole left in the side of the rear bumper sir... |

Thanks for all the feedback there. I am still undecided about if I will remove them yet. With three youngsters, I haven't conducted a poll on their vote (with/without runners) and I am easy either way.
