Can be very sunny when skiing, and warm too, but not usually in January.

Maybe Conor , Cyprus can be great in January where you can get 2 weeks where it's pleasantly warm on the other hand it can be cloudy, cold, heavy rain and sometimes even sleety snow right down to sea level....
