Pets ... Goodbye Girl ...

The last few days my big girl Suzi had been feeling unwell , took her to the vets yesterday and they decided to keep her in to do tests ...

Got the call this morning to say she had 70% kidney failure and that there was not much they could do for her ...

We were advised that the best for Suzi would be to put her to sleep , as internally she was in serious pain and to keep her on tablets would just pro-long that pain ...

Myself and my 2 daughters were with her when they administered the final injection and i do not mind admitting it the 3 of us were in bits at her passing , even now typing this is hard as it brings a lump to my throat and tears to my eyes ...

I am generally known as having a swinging brick as a heart , but i am sure gonna miss her .....

Apologies in advance for the posting ....

Goodbye Girl .... Rest in Peace

Sorry to hear that Mick.

I'm not a great "pet person" but I know how people get attached to animals. Kids growing up with them, making you feel wanted when all around you hate you, taking them for walks in the howling wind and rain......................

Nothing I can say except I'm very sorry to hear your news.

Remember the great and good times you had with her.

No need to apologise my friend. I still have a framed picture in the bedroom of a great dog we had when I was between 10 and 25. I'm 44 now !

We do set ourselves up for a fall I suppose, but that's far outweighed by the good times we spend with them and they choose to spend with us. They are never far from our thoughts.

You would not have wanted the issues to progress.....

Keep going !

Sorry to hear that Mick, i know how you feel, we've lost three dogs over the last six years i must admit i had a lump in my throat when the vet gave them the jab. The wife has the ashes of the three of them on top of the cabinet along with the photos, she won't let me scatter the ashes. gone fishin'

Thanks for all the kind comments Gents ... still welling up over her now and again when i watch videos of her from a pup ...

She was the most placid gentle dog ever , even when the first granddaughter arrived on the scene 2 years ago , when she got to the age and started pulling her ears , lying on top of her she never moved a muscle ...

I really must be getting mellow in my old age ...

The vet has arranged for her to be cremated and will let me know when to pick up her ashes ...

Wife is concerned about our other wee dog which is a Lahso Apso as she has been with Suzi for about 8 years and she used to always snuggle into her , always went out together and ran about the back garden , she keeps waiting at the kitchen door for her ...
