Plastic trim attachment tape

I'm having some plastic trim parts colour coded at the moment (will post pictures when back on the car), and so removed the clip on Powerful mirror trim covers as part of this - easy with a bit of heat from a heat gun. They were attached with rubbery double sided adhesive tape, fairly thick - see photo. Does anyone know where I can source this stuff from, as I'll need some more when I reattach the mirror covers this coming weekend?

Cheers, fanders

You wont beat the 3M tape for strength, but it can be a pain to get hold of. That Toolstation stuff is readily available and will do the job, especially if your in a hurry! Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer... Today I are one!

Its called VHB tape and used by us in the sign industry, however its not cheap, best thing to do is find a sign manufacturer or sign fitter locally and see if they have a roll end they can spare, they may just give it to you, its around £60 a roll for the 25mm width.........

Actually thinking about it, if you really don't want them to come off ever again, then you need some PU flex adhesive / sealer. Sometimes called sikaflex PU, but know to us in the trade as jollup! Jollup is the best thing since sliced bread, they use it to glue commercial bodies together, windscreens in place and lotus elise's body on to the chassis, all be the latter 2 are industrial strength. But you get the idea!

this is the stuff! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PU18-Polyurethan...1c3f9f6ae6

You can get it from all car paint suppliers, and most motor factors. Prices should be under a tenner, and if you don't go for a brand one should be a fiver.
If you get covered in it, and trust me if there's any chance of getting it on you, you will, White Spirit is one of the best / cheapest solvents that works with this stuff, when it's wet. If it drys then dynamite wont shift it!
Very good for fixing all sorts of trim, like the covers on the bottom of the doors, bumpers that the fixing clips have been broken on, in fact just about any thing to any thing. I've even used it on soil pipes before when all else has failed, takes a couple of hours to flash off full strength is with in 24 hours, and then you'll brake it before it comes apart Thumbs Up Yesterday I couldn't spell Engineer...
