Happy with what we have is perhaps what I meant without comment on the rationale of others |

Its kind of where I am I would have to double the expendature to move to 5.0l mine is a 2007 with the facelift interior plus diffs etc and it has a full spec and is in immaculate condition so it is hard to spend another 15k to move to a 5.0l |

I did exactly the same as 5.0 above and can only agree 100%. The 4.2 had a great supercharger noise and was fun to drive. But with the 5.0 (2010 onwards) it would seem JLR finally got round to sorting most (not all!) of the niggles of earlier models. It is definitely more planted in terms of the suspension and the cabin is even more classy with full leather headlining and full I-Phone integration, cooled seats etc etc. But at the end of the day, it is the engine that is the significant difference. When you really plant it from the lights, it feels like the car wants to rip the tyres off, there is so much grunt and also, although the exhaust is overly muffled, it still sounds far better than the 4.2.

What's this full iPhone integration you speak of? As in just for the hands free or you can play music and media thru it to the front screen? FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

Not tried the MP4 thing, but you can get to the full I-Tunes music library as well as the phonebook. I've got the ViseeO tune2air plugged into the integration port so the I-Phone connects via bluetooth. SDV8 AB MY 2019

I had serious integration problems with the 4.2 regarding bluetooth and the telephone system. Probably fixed by a bluetooth upgrade. There is no integration with an I-Phone for music on a 4.2 as far as I am aware SDV8 AB MY 2019

^ not quite "integrated" but an Alpine EZI-Dab will allow you to connect you I-device through the AUX in socket and control it via the control module of the DAB unit. Somewhat cheaper than changing to a 5.0 Got - 2017 SDV8 Autobiography in Loire Blue

Our integration re telephone connectivity/ directories is excellent and that's with the iPhone, Samsung smartphones and different model Nokia Lumia phones. I was told ours had the module upgraded at the dealer though.
