Noob - first drive in one - quality?

Hi All - first post, be gentle.

So after over 5 years in an X5 I took a drive in two RR's yesterday. A 2009 3.6 and a 2010 4.4. Lovely machines (I want one) but both had very squeaky interiors. Is this a 'feature' of them all? My 8 year old X5 doesn't have a squeak or a rattle anywhere.

Thanks

I'd say it depends how heavily they've been used.

My 2007 doesn't squeak at all although I get the odd chirp from the leather when it's cold. Si. <This is my name.

Hi and welcome, I'm with Bellini, my 2002 doesn't squeak or rattle inside and my mates 2007 TDV8 doesn't either... try a few more, there are plenty out there.... Pete

+1 the only squeak I get is if the rear seats have been folded down and are not seated properly in the upright position apart from that pure bliss Thumbs Up

Thanks guys, good to know.

Currently debating if I should be looking for an SE 3.6 or settle for 'standard' Vogue 4.4. Is there an FAQ somewhere that gives the difference between the V and VSE in 2010?

Thanks

Have the Faultmate MSV2 Extreme to be tinkering with the settings etc. !!

I also have an X5 and drove a 4.4 TDV8 and RRS back to back. I also thought the Land Rovers squeaked and rattled a little more than the Beemer.

Thanks peterg1965. X5 has been a joy to own.

Took a deposit on it early tonight (7 hours after posting the ad!). RR is a go Smile

I had an X5 up until last Feb, have to say i loved it, and yes it was solid as a rock, ive had my L322 now for a month and ill be honest, its the nicest car ive ever driven and owned, far more presence on the road, far nicer to look at and not a squeek or rattle to be found, and its 11 yrs old !!!

The only squeak i have ever regularly heard of in 7 or 8 years is the rear seats rubbing together or some times the catch mechanism both really quick fixes , anything else will be drive train/suspension issues and obviously another matter altogether .
