At last I am home and have finally seen and driven the car. It is fantastic and just oozes quality but the deployable side steps have a mind of their own. When I lock it up and walk away the drivers side retracts about half way and then extends out again. Also the passenger side will only deploy about half way out when the door is opened. Is there a "reset" procedure of any kind to get them to work properly? |

I'd suggest to first pressure wash the hinges and then let rip with WD-40. Pretty sure the mechanism is a bit rusty causing it to have too much resistance. Beter would be to either use a good grease (Shell Rhodina II is my fav) on all the hinges/sliding points or try a motorbike chain grease spray can. That stuff is incredibly durable. The best is the Wurth dry chain lube as it dries up and sticks really well for a long time. MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Great tip about asking for coverage under warranty, i did not even think about it, just called and they will only need to see it to confirm, but should be covered, ditto with none waterproof side repeater l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

Just got back from LR dealer where I picked up some badges and indeed, they will replace the rubber strips and side repeater as a courtesy - they might not even claim it under warranty I think!
