On a Discovery 3 A Brake Light Bulb or Faulty Brake Pedal Sensor can cause all these dashboard faults.

The brake lights were my first port of call. I've seen other references to the brake light switches of which I believe there are two switches at the pedal. I've also been referred to the engine compartment wiring loom.

On the D3 its a single Brake Light Switch just above the brake pedal. I also replaced this as they can REEK HAVOC when faulty.

Sorry, been busy. As others have said, the IIDTOOL should be able to do it. That's your best bet. Also, it is one of the checks that the car does on startup. So no errors on startup and you're probably good. I think triggering a situation where diff lock is required will also do it, but is a lot harder in practice. I got the error once on a JLR track during a full cross axel obstacle. (Mine you, with the centre diff fine, the car's progress wasn't hurt. ) if you have easy access to a but if off-road course, that's certainly the most fun way to test it. |
