Flying from NY to London to tour Solihull.

So November 29th I will be visiting some friends in London, while staying in England I thought it would be a great group trip to drive to Solihull to check out the factory and view some Rovers. Has anyone ever done a factory tour/drive? I am thinking about booking the Range Rover Experience & the Solihull plant tour/track drive. Thumbs Up This is basically like a kid going to Disney for the 1st time. I'm ecstatic.

Paul, if you're visiting you can't call them Rovers. People will think you're talking about a different car!

Land Rover still have the rights to the name - the Chinese who bought the company call them "Roewe" instead.

AFAIK JLR still own the name, while the Chinese bought all the parts, jigs and tools etc. for the Rover 75 ( and maybe others as well). I was told the Chinese name for the car is very similar to the way "Rover" is pronounced in China.

Paul, I think a JLR factory visit would be more equivalent to a believer visiting Mecca than a kid visiting Disneyland. Mr. Green I'm not planing an imminent visit to the UK, but I'd be interested to know what tours are available. I've been to the GM car assembly plant in Oshawa, Ontario and it was most interesting (even if the car produced wasn't). Have fun. Very Happy
