The battery was dying. Wouldnt hold a charge. For instance having doors open and it would flatten within 15 mins and also.fbh would drain it.

Reason I ask is that the alternators can give up around our model year. I would check the output as the battery could be being effected / pulled down. Just a thought for any easy check to make. Should be getting circa 14.7v from the alt

Big thanks to paul for coming round and checking fault codes. We found several baffling problems. All the codes are a result of low power. I'm almost certain is the alternator that's giving up the ghost. There are loads of coincidental problems caused by something. Gonna get to bottom of it soon i hope. |

The strangeness continues. I suspected the alternator but this morning i checked the voltage and it was 14.7. So took it for a 10 min blast down the local bypass to give batt a good top up. I get back to house turn off car try to restart and the park brake light flashes and i cant start the car. The ignition turns but no lights come on or the steering wheel dosent move. After afew minutes the ignition kicked in to life and it fires up strait away but the dreaded bong for transmision fault comes back. Checked the voltage again and its still producing 14v.

After all the codes and problems. They have all disappeared and i did have a problem with the key not turning the ignition on. After 3 days of trying to work it out its sorted itself out. I have no idea what was wrong i haven't done anything to it but is now acting like there was nothing wrong. I'm well baffled. |
