For a few years now I have noticed a strange circle appearing on the bonnet. It is positioned directly in front of the passenger washer jet by about 6 inches, about 13"in diameter and a complete circle. The paint seems to have oxidised in this circle, noticed today that the circumference has started to go white, a couple of pictures attached but they are rubbish so cant really see anything. There is nothing directly under it in the engine.... any ideas guys?? thanks, Rosco

Putty sink, caused by damaged metalwork being filled and the putty isn't allowed to dry properly before the paint is applied

47p2, thanks, has been there from when I had it which was 2 years old, so nearly 8 years, SWMBO cant see it as she is too small and I dont believe she can even see the bonnet when driving but that's another thread and why all four corners are scraped , do you think its a dodgy repair from something falling on the bonnet? It is really high up and intriguing. Definitely looks like a repair but in a strange place, not too bothered about it just interested

taken the insulation off and clean as a whistle underneath, nothing untoward, its a strange one complete circle with mottled paint and now what looks like the undercoat showing on the circumference, no obvious heat source underneath, maybe its ghosts..........

Could be the paint was etched with bird crap or an egg and the previous owner had it rectified...

Perhaps something round and hot was sat on the bonnet at some stage and damaged paint enough to show as the paint aged?

I get a crop circle in the boot, on the main floor panel just by the rear seats to the left, @ 24" perfect circle and damp too....  .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember
