I fear you are going to have to remove the fuel filter again and replace the sensor.

Dominic, try unplugging cable and cleaning connector with el. cleaner and spraying some WD40, it cant hurt.

JAS kindly worked on it today and it looked like the water fault was down to a fault fuel filter housing and sensor! All fixed now, happy days |

Had similar at Christmas after I hit a bit of flooded road at speed - no restricted performance message, went away of its own accord. |

After all my messing around with the water in fuel sensor wires and swapping the filters the RP message was coming up almost permanently so i spoke to Maltings about the Sensor wiring they sell for the TDV8 3.6, they were pretty certain it would be ok for my car and for the sake of a tenner inc delivery i ordered one late on Thursday afternoon, it arrived at 7:00 am on Friday!!! so a big shout out to them for excellent customer service.
