New addition to the stable

Since I will soon loose my company car, we bought this to replace the RAV4. Since the 5.0 will not arrive till the end of the year, I may also buy something cheap and fun, so keep your eyes on this post if you are interested Twisted Evil Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

Get a WJ Hemi, they are pretty cheap or even the slower 4.7 engine and a decent amount of toys but much cheapness and engine noise Cool FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's

I rear-ended one in my 1973 Series III Land Rover a few years ago.

Still didn't kill the Nissan, but it made an awful mess of its rear end. Twisted Evil Si. <This is my name.

One of my co-workers was rear ended in Nigeria and it didn't look right afterwards. It was fixed fine but didn't look good.

As for buying cars here, they are very expensive due to the government putting a lot of duty on it. Even locally built/assembled cars are expensive. The only cheap way to get a car here is what I am doing, via the MM2H visa. However under the MM2H you are not allowed to be employed in Malaysia (you can set up your own business though). Since I don't work in Malaysia, once my MM2H is approved, the 5.0 can be imported tax free Smile

I like the X-trails, we had a few as rental cars and they do what is on the tin. Don't like the looks particularly but they don't look to bad either. The reliability (statistically that is) is very good apparently so I'm hoping no issues.

No WJs here that I could find Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Now what would be the best choice for a second car that I only need for half a year :

Mercedes S320 95/96/97 or for the same money more or less a P38 around the same age ????????

They are only going to be staying till the end of the year till the 5.0 SC has landed Smile Smile

Opinions please......................... MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

Hi Frank, I know horrible ey. The 5.0 is still in the UK and I can not import it before the end of this year.

Since I have resigned from work, I need to hand in my work car very soon. The X-trail is for my wife to use as it is very much like the RAV4 I have from work and that size car suits her fine.

The temp P38 or S320 is to tie me over from when I loose the RAV4 to when I get the 5.0 SC on road here. I still have the B-King but that is not always the most practical nor easy way to go, hence a cheap old car.

The dilemma is, S Class super comfort and reliable and P38 that I wanted for years (found a nice looking one but no idea if it is any good) but then reliability is a potential issue. What to do............... MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!

An old S class or P38 is an excellent idea for 6 months. Thumbs Up

I'd go with the S class just because I think it would be less trouble.

I am also leaning towards the S-Class for reliability as I really don't want to be doing any roadside repairs or the likes. Workshops in Malaysia are cheap, so that is not the issue, it is being stranded that doesn't sit well with me. On the other hand, I can finally close the chain, Classic/P38/L322 Smile

And the P38 I have my eye on is nice looking, dark blue with sand interior.

Still the S-classes for sale here (quite a few) seem to be cheap cheap and they have this great reputation for reliability that a P38 can not even dream of.

Leaning S-Class but for the right P38 I may do something stupid Smile MY 2010 5.0 SC Galway green and sand interior!!
