Luckily the warrantee is still valid so it's off to the garage on Monday morning |

well it went t!ts up again, so i have had it back in and the clutch had burnt, so thats been replaced under the warantee, the guys there said its only the 2nd time they had seen one go this quick after a rebuild, so it makes me wonder if they put a new one in when they did it |

They must clean out the cooler and pipes, otherwise it will keep failing.

Mine's done nearly 50k since a rebuild (done by the previous owner). No probs yet (famous last words) despite lots of towing. |

Im in your neck of the woods and im interested in who you have used for the work ? I been deliberating over getting the gearbox oil changed for a short while and have made arrangements for it to be done in the next few weeks at a 4x4 specialists. Im terrified of the gearbox failing and am interested in knowing where to go and how much it will be costing me if / when the inevitable happens ![]() |

I've got to say - this seems like poor refurbishment work. Everyone knows the GM box is a weak point but they don't break every 12000 miles or anything like that. |

The only way to really resolve these issues is to replace the worn clutchs and TC and use the upgraded sonnax valve block.

Thanks for the heads up, Ive logged that firm in my phone ![]() There's a wealth of info spread all over this forum about this gear box and its issues, its been very informative for me and im sure others the same, it would be a great idea if it could be consolidated for reference like some of the articles in the wiki ![]() |
