I didn't notice this type of glass on any of my previous range rovers. It appears to be two peices of glass with a laminate in the middle. It's only like this on the front???

It is laminated front (and possibly rear too) side windows that was introduced in the 06 MY vehicles to reduce cabin noise. 06MY 4.4 V8 Autobiography Cairns Blue with Navy & Parchment Interior |

Yeah its just laminated glass, the downside being that when I got someone in to pull out a couple of dings on my last L322, one was in the door and he would have 'gone in' via the window glass area but wouldn't touch it because he said the glass has a tendency to shatter into a million pieces. If your old one was pre 2006 then that would be toughned which turns to beads when broken. Your current one should be laminated.
