vent

my left hand dash vent seems to have collapsed inside ,is it just a prise off job to get to the gubbins...

It's a bit fiddly to say the least.

From memory, I don't think you need to remove the whole side panel, look through the vent at each corner, you should see 4 square clip sections, get 2 small flat screwdrivers, I used precision ones, insert a screwdriver in opposite corners and pull the clips in, you should be able to extract the vent with just 2 clips out of the way. Don't worry if that makes no sense, once you look at the vent and see the 4 clips, you should know what I mean. 2006 Mercedes CLS

done the way you said but i retracted all four clips to get the unit out easier...mended the mechanism and now it works as should..thanks .
