Does anyone know What transfer box is in the 2006-2009 tdv8?

Im trying to do a bit of research on it before it goes into the garage to have it resealed for the 3rd time!

I can find info that the 2002-2006 is an NVG unit but this seems to be different from the latter cars.

Does anyone know what the best rtv silicone is for making the gasket, as this is what keeps failing! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

mine has started leaking again.

These tdv8 RR seem very problematic as much as td6 I think I'm going to hold up on a newer model  _____________________________________________________

I'm told by the garage that it looks porous - has anyone heard of this?

Nope, never heard of the casting going porous, i will get them to check it out while its out, im going to ring a tranny specialist tomorrow to find out the gen on the box.

Half thinking of seeing if i can an exchange recon unit and just replacing the whole thing. Pretty sure mine isnt porous as it was fine for 3 months minimum, as it was done in december and i checked it march time. Only noticed it cos the mids got a ball under the car, so it started leaking between march and now. Its going in on 20th and they will drop it out again and reseal it but if its has gone porous, which i have some doubts, then it will be a new one.

This is the last time this one is being sealed, next time will be a new one. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

How did you get on?

Been in today and they replaced the hi/low position sensor as it was leaking from the block connector aparently, anyhow i will check it in a couple of days to see if it has stopped leaking.

They also replaced a split cv boot for good measure as well. So now should be perfect for a few days at least!

Inam fairly convinced that this might have been the problem all along. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Is that the unit on the passenger side? Do you have a picture of the old one or what it looks like?

I've had another look under mine and I really can't see where its coming from.

It collects on the cage thing and drips on the garage floor.

Its a mystery???????
