eBay cyber attack

Just in case any of you have eBay accounts ....

Report from the BBC website today .....

EBay has asked users to change their passwords following a cyberattack that compromised one of its databases.

The US firm said the database was hacked between late February and early March, and had contained encrypted passwords and other non-financial data.

The auction site added that it had no evidence of there being unauthorised activity on its members' accounts.

However, it said that changing the passwords was "best practice and will help enhance security for eBay users".

Plus if it was hacked between February and March ...... Why wait till the now to inform people ... Shocked Whistle ====================================

"Open Mike Night " sounded like a lot of fun until i found out i was going to an Autopsy

Yeah it was quite a while ago now so i think if anything was to have been done it would have been done by now...

I get the feeling that most of these so called 'attacks' are either a foreign gov building up its attack strengths/tools, or some small white hat group somewhere doing it to prove how weak some big companies security measures are but not fully outing them.

Not a month goes by where some decent sized company has been breached or has had an outage. last eyar we had MS, Google, Apple... all had an outage at some point due to attacks which are becoming more and more common and the steps taken to mitigate them are become more and more complex and costly Sad FFRR MY06 facelift With TDV8 Alloys Zeros/ATR's
