I've been a few times, for the boat show. Nice enough town - don't know so much about the night life, but I think there's plenty on.

went there in dec 2013 for the xmas market....not a lot to see tbh , its mostly shops and there's the main street called konigsallee which has loads of posh shops, theres a good electrical shop in the mall half way down .. ... - .- -.

I loved Uerige in dusseldorf. One of the eldest pubs in town with it's own beer, very causy and I really liked the beer

pitty not last weekend, as it was japan day, arround 800000 people on the rheinoever - and great fireworks

probably the best international city in germany, very friendly, and easy going, go to the altstadt and you will find lots lots and lots of good little pubs and restaurants. you will have a great time

'Twas my first romantic break with my husband.. Can't remember much of it didnt do much sightseeing spent most of our in bars in the old town and a nice quaint memorable restaurant think it was called the old house, had napoleons rocking chair in it apparently, they did a nice steak. Was few years back mind you things could have changed ..

Went there a few years back on a stag do.

Great place with loads of really out there places.

Head for the outdoor bars on the Rhine, near the centre, order several large Steins and sup the day away. watching the frauliens.

Then back into the town for the pig cellar (I think its called) for excellent piglet done a thousand ways all washed down with more steins.

after you've thrown up try some of the bars between the Rhine and the centre which cater for all tastes.

Just don't order extra 'pillows' at the hotel. OMG my mate shat himself.
