TV sound Intermitent

Hi all
I have an intermittent sound fault when TV is playing in my car, I thought it was reception, but happens all the time, you have sound for a min or 2, then nothing for a few seconds, then ok again for a while, any ideas? DVD/CD and radio are faultless.

Mine does this but it IS dependent on signal, if I'm in a good area then its fine, if not then it keeps gapping.

^ as Dave says its very sensitive to signal..its not like a house aerial where height and direction help, the FF has only a few wires in a glass window. ... - .- -.

.... plus it's practically unusable on the move, and certain channels are stronger than others. Mine is much better now they have turned off the old analogue signal as digital was running at low power during during the 'dual period' so as to not swamp the old signal, after it was fully switched over they boosted the digital signal and I noticed a significant improvement.

I notice when in bad areas the sound is first to be affected (gappy) then picture will get blocky if signal really bad.
