North wales

Any recomendations on a decent caravan site in the llandudno area?

Preferably without a load of static vans and "entertainment".

I would suggest Min-Y-Don in Harlech but if you don't want to see statics, avoid it. That said, the tourer section is away from the statics and the park is immaculate. There is no entertainment on site and its right next to the beach.

I have a static now but I've kept the tourer as I don't always want to be in the same place.

Harlech is quite some distance from Llandudno (or at least it was 2 days ago when I was last up there!!!) Whistle

I'm assuming you are bringing a tourer rather than looking for a static to hire Question

Seriously, if you are not worried about being near to Llandudno, try this place:-

Bodwrog
Llanbedrog
Abersoch
Gwynedd
LL53 7RE
Tel: 01758 740341

Quiet site Just outside Llanbedrog on the LLeyn Peninsula. Good toilet and shower facilities, NO entertainment, 2 good ( child friendly) eating pubs within a mile or so, close to Abersoch, lots of good beaches on the LLeyn, also nice walking. Very Happy

The view from this site is superb (when it is not raining - this is Wales after all Whistle ) - we often use it for a weekend break, as living near to Machynlleth we can leave home after work on Friday, and be there for 6:30 - 7pm.

If you do decide to give this a try, can also recommend the fish and chips at Allports (shops in Pwllheli and Portmadoc).

You are also not too far from the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railways - can recommend a trip on the welsh Highland - now goes all the way from Portmadoc to Caernarvon, through spectacular scenery at Aberglasyn and Bedgelert.

If you want any further info / suggestions, PM me, the site I have suggested can often be full (it's not huge), but there are a couple of others on the Lleyn we have used that are good too.

Cheers Ray, will have a look at it. No rush as it will be for the summer now as we stayed in a little cottage in llandudno.

Havent been to Abersoch for years! Might be a plan. Probably
About 3hours from me i reckon so ok, just, for a weekend jaunt, what with now having the a55. Much better than the a5! There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

A55 is good, as long as there are no roadworks or jams / accidents Thumbs Up

A5 not so bad now - all the tourists are on the A55 Rolling with laughter 2006 (56 Reg) 4.4 V8 Vogue In Bonatti Grey (Gorgeous!!)

As you rock and roll round the corners on the A5 Laughing ....when I used to tow the Landy 90 to Ireland the A55 was always the better option as it was quicker and only 30 odd miles longer difference between Wrexham/ Llangollen roundabout too the Bangor one stop roundabout, via the 55, but a much smoother ride! If it dont work.......burn it!

If the IId tool cant fix it.......burn the FF.

If the FF cant be fixed......buy a Land Cruiser!

If the LC cant be fixed..............................................BUY a horse !!
