Alarm going off

Hello fellow L322 enthusiasts! I've got a problem with my alarm going off at regular intervals. It says on my info screen (MY2011) my hood is open and it isn't as I checked and slammed it shut. Now from time to time my hood shows it is open while driving, my dealer sent me a new hood alarm button as he thought it was caused by this, I changed it to no avail as it is still showing open from time to time and this triggers the alarm when parked. Very annoying. Anyone had the same experience and knows what the problem could be (I was thinking the wiring?).

Try putting a blob of chewing gum on the top of the switch plunger, close the bonnet and see what happens. Thumbs Up

Hi CSK and this is a common problem.

The switch is not being depressed enough.

Try getting one of those self adhesive rubber feet, used on on appliances, and locate the exact spot where the switch touches the bonnet, and fit the rubber foot, job done.

Make sure the surface where you are going to fit the rubber foot is clean, so it stays in place once fitted. 2007 TDV8 Lux

Hi guys, I hadn't had the time to thank you yet, busy day! I've put a piece of self-adhesive plastic under the bonnet right above the button and fingers crossed I haven't had a false alarm today. Thumbs Up for your feedback!
