Strange question

Hi all
Something simple and stupid but it's driving me mad, my 03 L322 Range Rovers drivers side wiper is marking the window near the door pillar when it stops to go back. Also it makes a horrid tapping sound as the wing on the arm hits the window. I've put a new IE blade on and it still does it.
Does anyone have the same problem? Silly I know but the sound grips me

I did have, the wiper arm need repositioning so it stops its sweep before it reaches the a pillar.

You may notice that the wiper is sitting slightly high at rest also.

1. Open bonnet
2. Remove plastic cover from wiper arm
3. Remove nut holding wiper on to the car.

4. You should then Be faced with an unusual shaped washer/spacer. Remove.
5. Remove wiper arm.

There is a lug on the wiper stalk, this needs to be reset one spline clockwise.

It is a pita to get off as it is liable to be seized on.

Chances are the screen has been replaced and the fitter didnt put it back on in the right place. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Wiper

Could also be a badly worn wiper arm at the point where the blade connects. Mine also made a very loud tapping noise at the turnaroud point in both directions so had both arms replaced and problem solved.

Consider this thread too that outlines how to plier pinch the blades and/ or buy plastic clips:
