Electric seat problem

Bit of a problem today, drivers seat has stopped working and is now stuck in a very reclined position (no its not what you think!!). The fuse has blown, tried another fuse, there was an instant flash when I plugged it in as it blew again. Bit annoying as you can imagine!! managed to drive the 10 miles back home, but wont be repeating the exercise as its bloody dangerous!!

The car is a 55 plate TD6 with 6 months Landrover approved used warranty left on it. Am I asking too much to try and get a call out to look at the problem?? In a bit of a sticky situation as I desperately need the car tomorrow, and cant drive any car because I am paraplegic and have to use a hand throttle/brake to drive.

any advice gladly taken guys.

Ive just been under the seat checking the wiring, no obvious cause, all wiring intact, no chaffing, no foreign objects causing problems. I have a feeling even If I called them out they would'ny find a abvious driveway cure unfortunately. Shame, first little problem I have had with the car. Now turning my attnetion to my old rover mini, see If I can get her sparked into life instead !!! A lot of fun, but not quite the same is it!!! Laughing

There's a fairly typical failure on the wiring harness under the seat. It's a seat out job to fix I think. Id ring LR and get them out. Counts as a breakdown as it's undriveable.

How did he reset the seat module? Did he have test book with him or did he use another method?

Had this issue and repaired a short, but I'm still curious about this, "reset."

thanks.

removed blown fuse, left fuse space empty, undid yellow connection block underneath front of seat, refitted a new fuse, then reconnected connection block. He has seen this before, sometimes its not a short, but motor overloads, causes fuses to keep blowing untill module is disconnected (which effectively resets it).

He could have been talking Censored but it worked!! Shocked
